Killed by the Cars at Calmar.
This forenoon a man, about 22 years old was run over by a freight train just pulling out of the yard, west bound, and instantly killed. He was trying to board a car to steal a ride and fell under the wheels. His head was badly crushed and one arm cut off. From a lot of letters found on his person it is supposed that his name is Stanley R. Staniford. A coroner’s inquest was held this afternoon.
Among the letters on his person was a very nice letter from his mother postmarked at Moneek, Maryland, in which she cautioned her boy to be careful, and not to try to beat his way but pay for it if he must see the world. He also had tender letters from his sweetheart at Trenton, N. J. He had a little over $3.00 on his person.—Calmar Courier.
