Our Protivln correspondent chronicles the death of J. V. Schuler who died of jaundice at his home in Protivin last Monday.

Died—Monday, Feb. 5th, at 8 o’clock a. m., John V. Schuler; interment took place Wednesday in the Spillville cemetery. The deceased was well known in Howard, Chickasaw, Fayette and Winneshiek Counties, having been in business in Cresco, New Hampton, West Union, and other places. Two of his brothers and his sister, Mrs. Kate Mikota, of Strawberry Point, were at his bed-side when death occurred.
