Thomas Daley died at the home of his son J. W. Daley, March 12, 1905, aged 88. He leaves a wife and five daughters and one son to mourn the loss of a kind father and a loving husband.

Mesdames Roger Ryan and Thomas Burke, of Union Prairie, were called to Cresco last week by the death of their father, Thomas Daly, one of the pioneer residents of that section. He was 85 years and 6 months old, and came to this country in 1850, settling near Freeport, where he lived for several years. Of late he has been living with his son John near Cresco, where his death occurred on Sunday from pneumonia. He leaves a wife, one son and five daughters. The remains were brought to Decorah, Tuesday, for interment,—Waukon Democrat,

THE PASSING OF OLD RESIDENTS.
THOMAS DALY.
Thomas Daly was born in County Cork, Ireland, in 1819, and died of pneumonia March 12th, 1905, at the home of his son John adjoining Cresco. Mass was held at Cresco, March 14th, and the remains brought here for burial in the Catholic cemetery. He leaves a wife, son and five daughters, two of whom, Mrs. Ellen Reynold and Miss Mary Daly, reside in this city. Mrs. Maggie Ryan, Mrs. Lizzie Burke of Waukon and Mrs. Katie Buffton of Cresco.
Mr. Daly came to this country when quite a young man; married Miss Hanora Ahearn at Little Falls, N. Y., Jan. 10th, 1852; came to Winneshiek county and settled near Decorah in 1857 where he resided until fourteen years ago, when he moved to Cresco with his son John, where he resided until the time of his death. Mr. Daly was a kind and loving husband and father, a Christian and a good citizen. Mr. and Mrs. Daly celebrated their golden wedding four years ago.
