Lowell Vsetecka, age 55, of Decorah, IA, died on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Winneshiek Medical Center in Decorah.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 307 West Main Street, Decorah, IA, with Rev. Donald Hertges presiding. Burial will be in the St. Wenceslaus Cemetery in Spillville at a later date.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at the Schluter-Balik Funeral Home, 604 South Ave, in Decorah and also after 10:00 a.m. at the church on Wednesday morning. There will be a rosary Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.

Lowell Ray Vsetecka was born April 27, 1963 in New Hampton, IA to Alvin and Patricia (Brincks) Vsetecka. Lowell attended Holy Trinity School in Protivin, IA and graduated from Turkey Valley High School in 1981. He then attended North east Iowa Community College in Calmar, IA in the Farm Implement Mechanic Program. Lowell then worked at Case IH in Sumner and Cresco, IA before going to work at DECO Products in Decorah, IA until due to health reasons he could no longer work. Lowell was a diabetic most of his life and had been on dialysis for many years. He has been a resident of Wellington Place in Decorah the last five years. Lowell enjoyed farming, gardening and family gatherings. Lowell donated his body to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.

Lowell is survived by his parents: Alvin and Patricia (Brincks) Vsetecka, Lawler, IA. Sister: Linda (Kevin) Luzum, Ft. Atkinson. Two brothers: Joe (Lisa) Vsetecka Ft. Atkinson, IA and Jeff (Jenny) Vsetecka, Charles City, IA. Nieces and nephews: Cynthia, Jacob and Emily Luzum; Hanna (Mak) Kriener, Heidi, Josh and Lia Vsetecka; Kaitlyn, Kelsey, Lindsey and Luke Vsetecka.

Lowell was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Frank and Annastasia (Klima) Vsetecka. Maternal grandparents: Ray and Hildegard (Dietzenbach) Brincks.
