OBITUARY.
MBS. ABBY MALANAPHY.
Mrs. Abby Malanaphy, the aged mother of John Malanaphy and Mrs. Martin Jones, pased{sic} away at her home in Bluffton township last Friday evening at the advanced age of eighty years, she was sick only a few days, three or four at most, with the complication of ailments incident to one of many years. She was one of the pioneer Irish mothers of that part of the county, and one whom all who knew her respected and admired. Mrs. Malanaphy came to Winneshiek county with her husband 50 years ago, from Woodstock, Ill. Her husband preceeded her to the grave about 38 years ago. Deceased leaves to mourn her loss two sons and one daughter: John of Canoe twp., Thomas of New Oregon, and Mrs. Martin Jones, also one sister, Mrs. Ellen Henry, and one brother, Martin Daly, all of Bluffton township.
The funeral services were held at the Bluffton Catholic church Sunday afternoon, Rev. Father Hawe of this city officiating. It was one of the largest funerals held in that locality for many years, showing the respect in which the deceased was held,-Decorah Journal.
