Larry Andera, age 83, of Decorah, IA died on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Wellington Place in Decorah, IA.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 30, 2018 at the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Spillville with Father Donald Hawes presiding, burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday, April 29, 2018 from 12:00 - 4:00 p.m. at the Schluter Balik Funeral Home in Decorah and also after 10:00 a.m. at the church on Monday morning. There will be a rosary at 4:00 on Sunday at the funeral home. The Schluter-Balik Funeral home is handling arrangements.

Larry was born on April 24, 1935, the son of Albert and Frances (Humpal) Andera on the family farm near Spillville, IA. He was the last of 13 children. February 1966, Larry became a resident at what is now known as Wellington Place, Decorah, IA. He was a people person and especially loved little children. His many interests included tractors, corn, farm animals, horse drawn wagon rides, wheel chair racing, and shenanigans. His smile was an inspiration to all.

Larry is survived by his sisters-in-law: Doris Andera, Ft. Atkinson, IA; Mary Ann Andera, Protivin, IA; Janet Andera, Cresco, IA; Darlene Andera, Spillville, IA. Brother-in-law: James Soukup, Decorah, IA along with 54 nieces and nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents: Albert and Frances (Humpal) Andera. Sisters: Adella (Carl) Peterson, Frances (Leonard) Hageman, Marcella (Edward) Hayek, and Mary Soukup. Brothers: Edward (Helen) Andera, Albert (Grace) Andera, Louis Andera, Frank (Georgina) Andera, Matt Andera and Cyril Andera in infancy, William Andera, and Robert Andera.
