SPILLVILLE -- Joseph (Joey) Snyder, 75, Spillvilie, died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2002 at the Oneota Riverview Care Facility, Decorah after a short illness.
A Funeral Mass was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Spillvilie with Rev. Donald Hawes officiating. Music was provided by Dons Thompson as organist and Dan Silhacek as soloist. Lector was Phyllis Mashek. JoAnn and Victoria Timp presented the offertory gifts. Eucharistic Ministers were Kerri Timp and Phyllis Mashek.
Interment was in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery, Spillville.
Joseph (Joey) Jacob Snyder was born July 19, 1926 near Conover, the son of Joseph and Mary (Frana) Snyder. He attended St. Wenceslaus School in Waucoma. He lived with his parents near Spillvilie until moving to the Oneota Riverview Care Facility in 1986. He enjoyed playing the piano, reading and watching
He was a member of the Uplifters Band at the care facility and a lifetime member of St. Wenceslaus Church.
Survivors include two sisters, Dorothy (John) Scholbrock, Festina and. Marie (Alden) Panos, Waucoma and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents.
