Funeral services for Myrtle Benson were held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 23 at Orleans Lutheran Church, rural Ridgeway with Pastors Phillip and Ginny Olson officiating. Interment was in Orleans Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Brad Amundson, Norbert Hovey, Howard Wemark, Mark Benson, Tom Frana, and Lauren Iverson. Linstrom{sic} Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Mrytle 92, died February 21, 2002 at the Cresco Care Center in Cresco.
Myrtle B. Benson was born March 11, 1909 on the farm in Orleans Township, Winneshiek County, the daughter of Martin and Clara (Fulsaas) Benson. She attended the rural school near their home and then remained at home to help on the farm. She was baptized and confirmed in the Orleans Church on April 8, 1909 and July 15, 1923.
She lived on the farm until the summer of 1996 when she entered the Cresco Care Center in Cresco.
She is survived by one brother: Marvin of Ridgeway.
Myrtel{sic} was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters: Olga Iverson and Alida Risdahl.
