CALMAR -- Cyril Baumler, 75, Calmar, died Monday, June 10, 2002 at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, MN after a long illness.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held 11 a.m. Friday, June 14 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church with Rev. Donald Hawes presiding. Lector was Patty Frana. Offertory gifts were presented by Krystle O'Connor and Jessica and Scott Baumler. Music was provided by Alan Sensor as organist accompanying the St. Aloysius Choir.
Interment was in St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery, Calmar with Jeff Guenther, Darin Wurzer, Mark Baumler, Steve Baumler, Kenny Baumler, Donald Baumler, Conrad Baumler and Rick Throndson as casket bearers.
Cyril Herman Baumler was born March 1, 1927 to Carl and Mathilda (Scholbrock) Baumler of St. Lucas. He attended St. Luke's grade school. In 1953 he attended Electronics School in Des Moines. On June 1, 1954 he married Theresa Lansing at St.Francis de Sales in Ossian. The couple moved to Calmar in 1955 where he ran his TV repair business. Cyril enjoyed hunting, fishing, baseball and his grandchildren. He was a member of the Calmar Commercial Club for many years and a nember of St. Aloysius Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Theresa; three sons, Dave (Becky), Gary (Denise) and Duane (Janice), all of Decorah; two daughters, Janet Coffey, Tempe, AZ and JoAnn (Loren) Kuennen, Ossian; ten grandchildren; four brothers, Reynold (Helen), West Union, Melvin (Rita) West, Union, Gerald (Lois), Waucoma and Irenus (Marlene), Waukon; three sisters, Lou Ann (Harlon) Throndson, Lawler, Coleen (Gerald) Guenther, West Union and Norma Jean (Eddy) Wurzer, West Union and his mother-in-law, Ida Lansing, Ossian.
Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers, Donald and Neil Baumler.
