Sad Accident
The widow of James Todd was drowned Sunday at the home of her son, John C. Todd, near Kendallville, where she had fallen into the cistren. She was somewhere about 70 years of age. Her husband died some years ago. Several children remain to mourn her unfortunate death, among them Fred E, and John C. Todd, beside several daughters and a son or two, some residing in California, others in Dakota.

Obituary.
Eliza Boies Todd was born Nov. 20th 1829, near Zanesville, Ohio, and died at the home of her eldest son, John C. Todd, in Fremont township, Sunday, October 15th, 1899. Deprived of a mother’s care at the early age of 12 years, she assumed the care of a large family of brothers and sisters. She was married to James Todd, Sept. 7th 1852, at Adamsville, Ohio, and moved to Elgin, Ill., where she resided until April 28tli, 1856. Moved from Elgin to Fremont township, arriving May 6, 1856, where she resided until the time of her death. She joined the M. E. church in 1852 at Elgin, and was a consistent member all her life. She leaves ten children: John C., Fred G., and Mrs. E. M. Barnes, of Fremont township; I. J., Geo. E., E. J., Ida M. and Mrs. E. M. Salisbury, of Salem, S. D.; Mrs. It. B. Armstrong of Davisville, Cai., and Mrs Etta Mahaffy, of Canton, Minn.
