Funeral services tor Lillian Polashek of Protivin were held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 15 at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Protivin with Rev. John A. Moser officiating. Interment was in Holy Trinity Church Cemetery in Protivin. Marjorie’s husband and children placed the pall. Pallbearers were her grandsons: Cory, Eric, Adam, Danny and Michael Polashek, Chad Samec, and Bobby Mullvain. Conway Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Lillian, 78, died Tuesday, December 11, 2001 at Allen Hospital in Waterloo.
Lillian Josephine Polashek was born November 13, 1923 at Fort Atkinson, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Neuzil) Riha. She attended and graduated from the Fort Atkinson High School. Following her schooling, she worked at various businesses.
On September 18, 1950 she married Robert Polashek at St. John’s Church in Fort Atkinson. They made their home in Protivin.
She was a member of the Holy Trinity Church, its Altar and Rosary Society, and Catholic Workmen. Lillian was a Protivin correspondent for the Times Plain Dealer.
Lillian liked to do needlepoint.
She is survived by her children: Theresa Mullvain of Beloit, WI, Paul of Protivin, Janice Vogel of Grundy Center, Joseph of Cresco, and John of Protivin; 12 grandchil-dren; one great-granddaughter; two brothers: Joseph and Clarence, both of Fort Atkinson; and five sisters: Mary Wenthold and Josephine Huinker, both of Ossian, Helen McMaster of Decorah, Clara Riha of Fort Atkinson, and Angie Fortney of Chester.
Lillian was preceded in death by her husband Robert on July 25, 1983; her parents; one brother: George; and one sister: Georgina Novak.
