Transcribed by Joy MooreCRESCO -- Edith Pacovsky, 90, died Wednesday, April 11, 2001 at the Evans Memorial Home in Cresco of natural causes.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 14 at the Lindstrom Funeral Home in Cresco with Rev. Bruce Hobert officiating. A great-granddaughter, Amanda Riha sang "On Eagle's Wings".
Interment was in the Bohemian National Cemetery, Protivin, with Wayne Mlady, Kenneth Hubka, Marinus Mlady, Wesley Webb, Ed Vokaty and Robert Hansen as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were great-grandchildren, Corey Wegner, Shelby Vorwald, Jessica Riha, Jason Wegner, Sadie Wren, Heather Riha, Autumn Vorwald, Amanda Riha, Jason Fidder and Joshua Foster.
Visitation was from 3-8 p.m. on Friday, April 13 at the funeral home.
Edith was born June 14, 1910 on a farm in Howard County, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Kostka) Mlady. She attended rural schools near her home. On Aug. 28, 1935, Edith married Grant Pacovsky. They farmed near Protivin until they retired to Cresco. Edith enjoyed her flower gardens immensely.
Survivors include two sons, Melvin (Jan) Pacovsky and Grant Jr. (Kay) Pacovsky, New Hampton; one daughter, Darlene (Bobby) Foster, Poplar Grove, IL; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; a sister, Grace Hubka, Cresco.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Grant Sr. on July 5, 1989; one son, Frankie in infancy; her parents; two sisters, Blancne Vokaty and Mamie Mracek; three brothers, Joe, Bill and Melvin Mlady.
