BASSETT - Lloyd H. McMullen, 86, of Bassett, died Monday, November 19, 2001 at the Eleventh Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City of natural causes.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 24 at Ionia Funeral Home in Ionia with Reverend John Hemann officiating.
Interment will be in the St. Boniface Cemetery in Ionia. Visitation was from 3 to 8 m. Friday at Ionia Funeral ome where there will be a 4 .m. Rosary and 7 p.m. cripture Service. Visitation continues one hour prior to services on Saturday.
Lloyd Henry McMullen was born May 24, 1915 at Little Turkey, the son of Adam and Nettie (Crabtree) McMullen. He received his education in Waucoma. After his schooling he went to work for the Milwaukee Railroad and the Oliver Corporation in Charles
City. He was united in marriage to Luella Linkenmeyer on October 24, 1938 at Immaculate Conception Church in North Washington. After their marriage the couple resided in Ft., Atkinson, Waucoma, Lawler, Waterloo and Bassett where he was currently residing. Lloyd also worked at Ratn Packing Company in Waterloo from which he retired in 1979. Lloyd enjoyed collecting rocks, which he cut, polished and made into jewelry. He also enjoyed fishing ana hunting.
Survivors include a daughter, Laura Iverson, Bassett; a son, Jim McMullen, Florida; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a brother, Donald McMullen, Mercy Island, WA.
Preceding him in death were his parents, wife Luella, a son, Norman, a brother, Harland, and two sisters, Ruth and Vera.
