Cleo Carolan, passed away on April 19, 2011 at her home in rural Decorah, IA, with her family by her side following a long battle with cancer.

Cleo was born on March 29, 1944 to Donald and Marjorie (Trouten) Patterson in Cresco, IA. She graduated from the Canton High School in 1962, then went on to school in Rochester, MN. Following schooling, she worked in Albert Lea, MN. She married John "Jackie" Carolan. Together they farmed and she ran a Beautician business out of their home. Cleo also worked at Wapsie Produce and Rockwell Collins in Decorah for 27 years, retiring in January of 2010.

Cleo enjoyed working in her yard, gardening, cooking, quilting, but most of all her children and grandchildren. She loved going to the "forty" for walks in the woods and picnics with her family. She was looking forward to summer and spending time in her cabin. Cleo was also a lifetime member of the Stateline Methodist Church in Harmony. She was very loved and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her four children, John Carolan, Jason (Shelley), Carolan, Jarad (Wendy) Carolan and Jolene (Matt) Nierling, 9 grandchildren, Taylor, Randi Jo, and Emily Carolan, Kelsey Wagner, Cody and Jessie Carolan, Hailey, Ashley, and Justin Nierling, a sister Marcia (John) Hanson of rural Harmony, MN, a brother Randy (Doris) Patterson of Burr Oak, IA, two sisters-in-law, Audrey Patterson of Canton, MN, and Cheryl Hayes of MO, a brother-in-law Gary (Janice) Carolan of Noblesville, IN, along with uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and a brother, Royce.

Cemetery:
Her remains will be laid to rest at State Line Cemetery in rural Harmony, MN at a later date by her family with a private graveside service.

Visitation:
A memorial visitation time will take place on Saturday, April 23, 2011 from 1-4 p.m. at the Lindstrom Funeral Home in Harmony, MN.

Service:
No other public service is planned.
