Ann Hageman, age 89, of Calmar, IA died Saturday, July 30, 2016 at the Ossian Senior Hospice in Ossian, IA.

Mass Of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, August 4, 2016 at the St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 306 South Maryville, Calmar, IA, with Rev. Robert Gross presiding. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 3:00-7:00 p.m., on Wednesday, August 3, 2016, at the Schluter – Balik Funeral Home, French Chapel, 202 South Washington Street in Calmar, IA, with a rosary at 4:00 and a scripture service at 7:00 and also after 9:30 a.m., at the church on Thursday morning.

Anna Mary (Brincks) Hageman was born on July 16, 1927, the daughter of Herman and Paulina (Weber) Brincks near Ossian, IA. She attended Ossian Schools. On June 25, 1946 Ann married Francis Hageman at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Calmar, IA. To this union three children were born, Norma, Lynn and Laura. They farmed north of Calmar until 1980 at which time they moved to their home in Calmar. Ann enjoyed gardening and had a “green thumb” with both inside and outside flowers. She also enjoyed playing cards, crocheting and embroidering. Ann and Francis loved dancing, 4th of July parties and traveling. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren meant the world to her and they enjoyed her famous Cheerio bars, apple crisp and raiding her candy dish. Ann had a strong Catholic faith and was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church and Rosary Society, at one time serving as vice president. Ann often helped make quilts for the fall festivals and volunteered at the Winneshiek Medical Center.

Ann is survived by her son: Lynn (Julie) Hageman, Calmar, IA. Two Daughters: Norma (Alan) Freidhof, West Union, IA. Laura (Randy) Kuennen, Ft. Atkinson, IA; Thirteen grandchildren: Annette (Arlen) Kriener, Scott (Kelley) Mikesh, Heather (Blake) Gamm, Malissa (Scott) Mauricio, Ryan (Beth) Hageman, Aaron Hageman, Breann Hageman; Carol (Mike) Gaul, Bill (Katie) Kuennen, Sue (Paul) Rieland, Bob Kuennen, Kathy Kuennen, and Jenny Kuennen. Fifteen great – grandchildren: Bradley, Marcus, Jordan and Mitchell Kriener; Josie Mikesh; Madison, Noah and Mason Gaul; Colin & Claire Kuennen; Patrick and Katherine Rieland; Alex and Ali Hageman and Trent Gamm. Her brothers and sisters-in-law: Eugene Hageman, Decorah, IA; Delbert Hageman Decorah, IA; Robert (Joann) Hageman, Decorah, IA; Helen Dietzenbach, Ossian, IA; Dolores Hageman, Cresco, IA; and Joyce Hageman, Ossian, IA, along with many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Ann was preceded in death by her beloved husband Francis on July 14, 2014; her parents: Herman and Paulina (Weber) Brincks; Father and mother-in-law: August and Theresa (Schmitt) Hageman Sr.; Siblings: Clarence (Marie) Brincks, Ray (Hildegard) Brincks, Rose (Laverne) Meyer, Mary (Herman) Bullerman, Olivia (Ralph) Holthaus, Theresa (Louis) Bullerman; brothers and sisters-in-law: August Hageman Jr., Louis Hageman, Leonard (Frances) Hageman, Cornelius (in infancy), Francis Dietzenbach and Patricia Hageman.
