Jos. Thuente, 80, Of Festina Dies

Funeral services for Joseph F Thuente, 80, retired farmer, were held Friday morning, September 13, at St. Mary’s church in Festina. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery. The Rev. Adelhart Thuente, O. S. B., nephew of the deceased from Collegeville, Minn., officiated. Thuente died September 10.

Pallbearers were John Kipp, Hugo Hageman, Ed Hageman, Sam Leichtnam, Marc Bengfort, William Scholbrock and Joe Kuennen served as cross bearer.

Joseph Thuente was born October 1, 1865 in Washington township, the son of Frank and Elizabeth Thuente. He married Angela Schrandt October 14, 1890 in Festina.

Survivors include his wife and children, Wm. Of Kent, Minn.; Mary (Mrs. H. G. Nordick), Kent, Minn.; Sisters Mary Rose, Racine, Wis.; Joseph B. Thuente, Festina; and John F. Thuente of Algona, Henry and Theodore preceded him in death.

Those from distance who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. H. G. Nordick and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Thuente of Kent, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. John Thuenente{sic} of Algona, Raphael Thuente of St Paul, Bros. Benedict and Dunstand Thuente, Collegeville, Minn. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Haken of Oelwein, and Mr. and Mrs. Mike Bornong of Gilbertville.
