Festina Woman’s Funeral Monday

Funeral services for Mrs. Fred Hageman, 80, of Festina, who died Friday, January 4, were held Monday, Jan. 7, at Festina.

Catherine Wenthold was born October 25, 1865, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wenthold. On September 18, 1882, she was married to Fred Hageman, who preceded her in death November 20, 1937. Nine children were born to this union. One son, Fred, preceded her in death.

Surviving are eight children, Mrs. Doninic{sic} Bucheit (Mary), Felix, Mrs. Matt Drilling (Catherine), of Cresco, Andrew, Alois, Mrs. Ben Schmitt (Ida), Ignatius and Mrs. Joe Funke (Leona). Also surviving are one brother, Barney Wenthold, 37 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

NOTE: The wedding date varies from her husband’s obituary - one says 1882 the other says 1883.
