John Hageman 81 Dies January 11

John Hageman, 81, died in the Decorah hospital Sunday morning following a week’s illness. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at 9:30 in St. Francis de Sales church with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. M. J. Thiltgen celebrating the requiem mass. Burial was to be in the church cemetery with the Rev. D. D. Weydert, assistant pastor officiating at the grave.

Six grand-sons acted as pallbearers. They are Edwin, Ermin, Clarence and Cyril Hageman, Jerome Imoehl and Wilfred Bohr.

Born In 1866

He was born at Festina February 17, 1866 and was the son of Fred and Angela Schrandt Hageman.

May 21, 1889, he married Mary Bucheit, the ceremony being performed in St. Mary’s Catholic church at Festina.

They retired from their farm near Festina a few years ago and have resided in Ossian.

Survivors are his wife, five sons and seven daughters: Fred of Ft. Atkinson, Nick, Joseph, Philip and John all of Festina. (Angela) Mrs. Frank Imoehl, Festina, (Mathilda) Mrs. A. Bohr Ossian, (Mary) Mrs. Clem Bohr, Ossian; (Philomena) Mrs. Roman Ott, Ossian; (Victoria) Mrs. Wilfred Lansing, Ossian; Miss Barbara Hageman, Plymouth Rock, Miss Agnes Hageman, at home.

There{sic} brothers and one sister also survive: Barney and Henry Hageman, of Calmar, Wm. Hageman, of Spiran, Kansas and (Mary) Mrs. Wm. Timp, Calmar.
