Mrs. R. Hageman To Be Buried at Calmar Friday

CALMAR (Special) – Funeral services for Mrs. Rosa Hageman, 76, who died early Tuesday morning, June 1, at St. Joseph’s hospital in New Hampton following a lingering illness, will be held Friday morning, June 4, at 9:30 at the St. Aloysius church in Calmar with burial in the St. Aloysius cemetery. The Rev. Peter J. Friedman will officiate.

The French Funeral home is in charge. The remains were at the family home Wednesday and Thursday where the rosary was recited each evening.

Rosa Tekippe was born at Festina March 7, 1878, the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Thuente Tekippe. She received her education at St. Mary’s parochial school in Festina.

On October 24, 1899 she united in marriage with Bernard Hageman at St. Mary’s church and they established their home on a farm southwest of Calmar.

In 1942 they became residents of Calmar.

Surviving are four daughters: Mrs. Aloysius (Regina) Bruening, Calmar; Mrs. Jo (Emma) Gehling, Ossian; Sister M. (Verena) Lutgardis, O.P. of St. Catherine’s high school, Racine, Wis.; Mrs. Gregory (Hildegard) Gehling, Cresco; also eight grandchildren and two brothers Fred Tekippe of Fort Atkinson and William of Calmar and four sisters, Mrs. George Hageman of Beloit, Kans., (remainder of article missing)
