Decorah- Services for Bernt G. Jaastad, 77, were Monday at the First Lutheran church with the Rev. R. A. Ofstedal officiating. Burial was in the Phelps cemetery. He died Friday after a heart attack.

Jaastad was born May 28, 1871 in Canoe township, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Gunder Jaastad. He spent his entire life in Winneshiek county, engaging in farming. He married Sophia Foss Sept. 9, 1895.

Survivors include his three children, Mrs. Marie Lomen, of Decorah, Lloyd Jaastad, of Canoe township, and Mrs. Florence Dresselhaus, of Beloit, Wis.
