Decorah, Ia., - Services for George Gilman Johnson, 34, were conducted Monday from the Steine Funeral Home at 1:15 p.m. and at 2 p.m. at the Washington Prairie Lutheran Church with burial in the adjoining cemetery. The Rev. Oscar E. Enhebreston officiating.

Born Aug. 23, 1915 at Gays Mills, Wis., and Johnson came to Winneshiek County with his parents Mr. and Mrs. Gustav Johnson in 1917. He was educated in rural schools. On April 1, 1945, he married Jean Manning of Chicago, who survives. In 1941 Johnson joined the United States Navy, serving in the Pacific theatre. He received a medal discharge in 1945. He died Friday in the Veterans Hospital at Minneapolis after a long illness.

Besides his wife he is survived by his mother, two sisters and two brothers. Mrs. Peter Hamre, Emmett and Norman Johnson of Decorah, and Mrs. Carl Fjelstul of Ridgeway.
