Nellie Spaun

Funeral services were held here Sunday afternoon for Mrs. Nellie Spaun with the Rev. Alden Showalter officiating at the Community church. Interment was in the Frankville cemetery.

Mrs. Nellie Spaun was born November 14, 1873 at Frankville, the daughter of Cornelius and Marie Catherine VanWey. She attended the public schools of the locality and for a brief time taught in the public schools.

In 1893 she was united in marriage to Louis Spaun and to this union was born one son, Harold, from whose tragic death in World War I, Nellie Spaun never completely recovered.

Nellie Spaun was united with the Community Presbyterian Church October 25, 1895 and became a regular communicant. She was an active member of Willing Workers, and also a Gold Star mother.

Confined to a rest home the past six years, she suffered a stroke, from which she did not completely recover.

Nellie Spaun departed this life at the age of 83 years, six months, and three days.
