Decorah- Melvin F. Rovang, 87, died Wednesday in the Aase Haugen Home following a long illness. He was a retired farmer, tire store owner and janitor.

Surviving are his wife, Esther; two sons, Raymond of Decorah and Donald of Chatsworth, Calif.; three daughters, Nancy Baker of Phoenix, Ariz., and Linda Rovang and Betty Chapman, both of Decorah; nine grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. Services: 1 p.m. Saturday, First Lutheran Church. Burial: Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at Fjelstul's and one hour before service time Saturday in the church.
