Decorah- Funeral services for Willard E. Van Pelt, 85, who died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Clarence Gierhart, Saturday, after a long illness, were held Tuesday. The Rev. Floyd H. Weed officiated, and burial was in Phelps cemetery.

Mr. Van Pelt was born Dec. 22, 1860, in Decorah, and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Van Pelt, early Decorah settlers. He was married to Charlotte May Wold on March 27, 1885.

Surviving are three cons (sons), Grover and Walter, both of Cedar Rapids, and Lester E., of Decorah, and one daughter, Mrs. Gierhart.
