Decorah- Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Walton Christen, 93, were conducted Monday afternoon at the family home. The Rev. Frank E. Callender, pastor of the Congregational church officiated, and burial was made in Phelps cemetery. Mrs. Christian died Friday, May 10.

She was born Sept. 23, 1852, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Walton. On Dec. 27, 1876, she was married to Clarence Christen, and they lived on a farm near Bluffton. Their home was later in Freeport, where Mr. Christen managed the county farm, and later, when he became sheriff of Winneshiek county, they lived in Decorah.

She is survived by three daughters, Josephine and Myrtle Christen, Decorah, and Mrs. G. W. Welch, Fergus Falls, Minn., and four grandchildren. Her only son, Floyd C. Christen, died a month ago.
