ALBERT ARNESS DIED FRIDAY AT OAKDALE, IOWA
Albert Arness, 54, of Frankville township, died Friday morning, Nov. 5, at Oakdale, Ia., after being in ill health for a number of years. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Glenwood Lutheran church, Rev. Alfred Bredesen officiating.
Albert was born Sept. 1, 1889, the son of the late Lewis and Gunhilda Arness. He was confirmed in the Glenwood church April 10, 1904 by Rev. Borge. On March 14, 1918, he was united in marriage to Marie Soland, who survives with four children, Eunice (Mrs. Dervin Rocksvold of Decorah), Helen; Lorraine and Raymond at home.
He is also survived by his aged mother, Gunhilda Arness, one brother, Richard, and six sisters: Alma ( Mrs. Melvin Allison); Stella (Mrs. Helmer Hexom); Louise (Mrs. E. Soland;) Mabel (Mrs. Morris Holven); Elsie (Mrs. Lee Burbank); and Gladys. One brother, Edgar, preceded him in death.
Interment was made at the Decorah Lutheran cemetery with the Fjelstul Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Ben Geving, Henry Berge, Jeff Gaffney, John Johnson, Elmer Lysne, and Oscar Scholl.
