McIntosh Rites

Mrs. John McIntosh, 72, of Decorah passed away at her home at 11:45 p.m., Monday, December 12, 1949. She had been ill for about five years.

Funeral services were held at the Olson-Iverson Funeral Home, at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 16, 1949. Burial was in the Phelps cemetery. The Rev. M. A. Egge, officiated.

Miss Sara Ann Caldow, daughter of Adam and Elizabeth Caldow, was born on November 30, 1877 in Dane County, Wisconsin. She moved with her parents to a farm near Castalia in 1890.

She was married to John McIntosh at Decorah on May 4, 1908. The couple made their home at Decorah except for four years when they lived on a farm near Locust.

She is survived by her husband, three sons, Chester, Harold and Archie, all of Decorah; two daughters, Mrs. Freeman Alberts (Irene) of Decorah, and Mrs. Chester Perry (Bessie) of Castalia, 13 grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Also three brothers, William A. Caldow of Lodi, Wisconsin; James Caldow of Huron, South Dakota; and Robert Caldow of Hitchcock, South Dakota; one sister, Mrs. Roy Campbell of Castalia and a number of nieces and nephews.
