MRS. CHARLES HANSON
Decorah, Ia. April 21 – Special: Mrs. Charles Hanson, a long time resident of Winneshiek County, died at the home of her niece, Mrs. Charles Falck, Decorah, Friday morning. Funeral services were held at the United Lutheran Church of Decorah at 2:30 o’clock in the afternoon Monday and burial was made in the Vold’s Cemetery.
Mrs. Hanson, nee Jane Sander, was born in Branvold, Solder, Norway, about eighty two years ago and at the age of five years she came to this country with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Brede Sanders. Mrs. Hanson has lived in Winneshiek County since then, except for the time she spent in Canada and South Dakota with her children since the death of her husband. For several years she and her husband, C. M. Hanson lived on the farm now occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Ladwig, about three miles north of Ridgeway and in the Reinhart residence of this place.
She is survived by the following children: Ben and Oscar Hanson of Sesseton, S. Dakota, Mrs. O. P. (Clara) Hovey of Decorah, Mrs. Peter (Minnie) Hovey of Orleans Township and Mrs. Hans Sollid of Kyel, Canada. Two daughter preceded her in death, Mrs. L. M. Buttner (Nettie) and Clara, who died infancy.
