Funeral services were held last Wednesday afternoon, January 21, 1953 at the Schutte Funeral Home in Postville for Mrs. Sarah Schopp, 82, of Castalia with Rev. Stanley Bugge, pastor of the E. U. B. Church of Castalia, officiating. Burial was in the Elgin cemetery.

Sarah Jane Gage Schopp was born May 19, 1870 at Clermont, the daughter of Francis and Sarah Gage. She passed away January 19, 1953 at Decorah Hospital.
She was married to Orlando P. Schopp on October 20, 1884. Mr. Schopp preceded her in death on January 16, 1936.

Surviving is one daughter, Mrs. Fred Leithold (Nellie) of LaCrosse, Wisconsin, one sister, six grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Charles B. and one daughter, who died in infancy.
