Violet Smith
Services for Violet Smith were held Monday, Oct. 30, 1989 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Castalia with burial at the Pleasant View Cemetery. Rev. H. W. Wolfgram conducted the services with Marlys Hager as the organist. The Schutte Funeral Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were: Danny Schultz, Stanley Schultz, Kevin Schultz, Thomas Schultz, David Schultz and Timothy Schultz.She was born Oct. 20, 1918 in Castalia to Walter and Elsie (Schroeder) Schultz. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith at Castalia. She attended school at Castalia. She married Erwin K. Smith at Woodstock, IL on April 15, 1945.
She was employed by the Parker Pen Company in Janesville, WI, the Johnson Biscuit Company at Sioux City and an apartment manager in Milwaukee, WI. She moved back to Castalia with Smitty in 1972.
She is survived by her husband, Erwin, a son James Snyder of Bradenton, Florida, a stepson, Chappy Smith of Winter Haven, Florida, 2 grandchildren: Jay Snyder of Boston, MA and Cheryl (Mrs. Donovan Boyd) of Bradenton, Florida, 7 step-grandchildren, one brother, Charles Schultz of Corpus Christi, Texas.
She was preceded in death by five brothers: Everett, LaVern, Ralph, Ronald and Kenneth Schultz.
