Charles L. Schultz was born in Castalia on Oct. 12, 1937, the son of Walter and Elsie (Schroeder) Schultz. He died of a sudden heart attack on Feb. 14, 1992. He was 54.

He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Castalia. He graduated from the Postville High School. He served four years in the Navy, stationed in the Philippines. He married Barbara Hausen of LaVerne, Minn. on Nov. 23, 1963. They had three children: Brian of Dallas, Texas; Carrie of College Station, Texas; and Laura at home.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers: Everett, LaVern, Ralph, Ronald and Kenneth; and one sister, Violet Smith. He is survived by his wife and three children.

Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 17, 1992 at St. Marks Lutheran Church in Corpus Christi, Pastor Darrell Gilbertson officiating. Burial was in Seaside Memorial Park.
