Decorah- Herman B. Fretheim, 79, retired farmer, died at his home Sunday following a long illness.

Surviving are his wife, Esther; two sons, Harlan of Carrollton, Texas, and Dean of Owatonna, Minn.; one daughter, Mrs. Milton DeBuhr, Cupertino, Calif.; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and one brother, Parnell, Decorah.

Services: Wednesday, 2 p.m., Madison Lutheran Church. Burial: Madison Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call after noon today at Olson-Fjelstul Funeral Home or after 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
