Decorah- Following an illness of a few hours from cerebral hemorrhage, Paul Ode, 71, died Wednesday, Jan. 18, in a Decorah hospital.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 21, at 1:15 p.m. from the Steine Funeral Home, and at 2 p.m. at the Washington Prairie Lutheran Church, with burial in the adjoining cemetery. The Rev. Oscar E. Engebretson will officiate.
Ode was born Dec. 23, 1878, on a farm near Decorah, son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Ode. He was educated in rural schools and at Valder Business College, and followed farming throughout his life.
On June 21, 1907, he married Clara Nelson, who preceded him in death.
Surviving are his daughter, Mrs. Leonard Brown, Decorah; and four sons, Rudolph and Lester, Decorah, Walter of Lanesboro, Minn., and Henry of Azusa, Calif.; he is also survived by his brother, George Ode, of Decorah, and his sister, Mrs. G. A. Evenson of Calmar.
