Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, July 22, 1:30 p.m., at Zion Lutheran Church, Castalia, for Ervin H. Schweinefus, who passed away following a heart attack on Wednesday, July 19. The Rev. Arthur J. Tolo was in charge of the rites; burial was in Pleasant View Cemetery in Castalia.

Ervin Henry Delbert Schweinefus was born February 9, 1910, the son of William and Minnie Schweinefus, on a farm near Castalia. He lived his entire life as a farmer on a farm near Castalia. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Castalia.

Survivors include his mother; two brothers, Ernest and LaVern of Castalia; and a sister, Lorene of Castalia; and one niece.

Relatives from a distance attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Manke, Mrs. Clara Abbe, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Manke, and Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Stendel and Shirley of Owatonna, Minnesota; Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Abbe of Meriden, Minnesota; Mr. and Mrs. Clarion Torkelson and Rosina Torkelson of New Hampton; and Mr. and Mrs. Martin Schweinefus of Muscatine.
