RITES HELD FOR DANIEL HIGGINS

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Community Presbyterian Church in Frankville for Daniel Higgins, who passed away at University Hospital, Iowa City, on November 8, following surgery. The Rev. Robert Reynolds had charge of the rites.

Daniel Higgins was born in West Houghton, Lancashire, England on September 16, 1868. He came to the United States as a young man and worked as a spinner in the woolen mills.

He was married to Mrs. Mabel Christofferson on February 21, 1925 at Kirkland, Washington.

He was preceded in death by his wife in May, 1956; a stepson, Vernon Schoonmaker, in June 1935. He is survived by four stepchildren, Mrs. Pearl Teepe of Elma, Mrs. Mary Teepe of Savage, Minnesota, Mrs. Spencer Burnham of Janesville, Wisconsin, and Lewis Christofferson of Richmond, California.

Mr. Higgins lived in Frankville a number of years. He spent the latter part of his life in a rest home in Decorah. He was 92 years of age.
