Funeral services for Mary Floody, 84, were held Tuesday, Nov. 13 at 11 a.m. at St. Francis DeSales Catholic church, Ossian. Burial was in St. Francis DeSales cemetery. The Rev. Philip McDermott was in charge.

Mary Irene Floody, daughter of Henry and Bridget (Byrne) Floody was born May 2, 1900 at Castalia. She died Saturday, Nov. 10 at Waukon.

She received her education in the Castalia public school and Postville high school. Mary worked for two and one-half years as a Winneshiek County employee during the 1960's.

She was a member of St. Francis DeSales Catholic church, Ossian. Most of her life was spent in Castalia. However, since 1977 Mary lived at Thornton Manor, Lansing.

She is preceded in death by her parents and three brothers -- James, Edward and Leo (Pat).

Surviving are four nieces, Evelyn Buser, Mason City, Patricia Harris, Mt. Airy, GA, Marsha Banas, Los Osos, CA and Laura Floody, Santa Maria, CA.
