MRS. DANIEL (Nelson) HIGGINS
Rites Held for Mrs. Dan Higgins
Mrs. Dan Higgins died at 10:30 a.m. at the home of her daughter Mrs. John Teepe, near Floyd. She was born September 1, 1881 in Wisconsin and was 74 years old. She was the daughter of Peter and Mary Nelson and attended schools in Wisconsin and in Decorah. She was a member of the Frankville Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her husband; son, Lewis Christopher of Richmond, California; three daughters, Mrs. Ed Teepe of Orchard, Mrs. John Teepe of Floyd and Mrs. Spencer Burnham of Janesville, Wisconsin. Other survivors are a sister, Mrs. Stella Barckley of Janesville, 19 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Higgins was preceded in death by her parents, two sons and one daughter.
Funeral services were held at the Frankville Community Church on Friday afternoon, May 18. The Rev. Alden Showalter of Frankville officiated and burial was made in the cemetery near by. Many relatives attended from Charles City and Floyd and also from the Frankville community, Castalia, Calmar, Ossian and Decorah.
