HOWARD VAN WEY

VAN WEY YOUTH TO BE BURIED THURSDAY

Howard Van Wey, 13, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Van Wey of Frankville, passed away Tuesday morning following a short illness. The body will be committed for burial at 10:00 a.m. Thursday morning.

This community was saddened Tuesday morning on hearing of the death of Howard Van Wey, oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Van Wey. He was born July 17, 1935 and was 13 years old. The Van Wey family were quarantined for scarlet fever and were recovering satisfactorily, when Howard suddenly became a victim of its after-effects.

"Howdy" as he was favorably known by his companions and friends was a seventh grade pupil at the Frankville school. He is survived by his parents, three sisters, Arliss, Marietta and Janice, and one brother, Ronald, all at home, his grandmother, Mrs. Miner Van Wey of Waterloo, and several aunts and uncles.

Funeral services were observed at the graveside with the Rev. Walter Martin of Postville Community Presbyterian church officiating, with the use of a prayer and the reading of the 23rd Psalm. There were many flowers, and burial was made in the Frankville cemetery.

Mr. and Mrs. Earl Van Wey, Barbara and Leslie and Mrs. Miner Van Wey, all of Waterloo, were here for the services which were held Thursday morning, at 10:00 o'clock a.m.
