Postville, Wis.* -- Richard VanWey, 50, of Des Moines, formerly of Postville, died of natural causes Monday, June 6, 1994 at home.Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Frankville Community Church, rural Postville, with burial in the church cemetery.
There will be no visitation. The Schutte Funeral home, Postville, is in charge of arrangements.

Richard John VanWey
Richard John VanWey, son of John J. and Irma (Hesse) VanWey, was born November 11, 1943 at Decorah, Iowa. He died Monday, June 6, 1994, at his home in Des Moines, Iowa. He was 50 years old.
Richard was baptized and confirmed at the Frankville community Presbyterian Church. He graduated from the Postville Community Schools in 1962. He served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War. Richard operated his own drywall company. He had been most recently occupied as a volunteer for the Salvation Army in Des Moines.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Tina Marie VanWey; his father, John VanWey; and a brother James L. VanWey.
Richard is survived by his children: Scott and his wife Sheri of Big Springs, Texas; Jill Taylor and her husband, Ronnie of Midland, Texas; Larry, of Carrollton, Texas; Mark of Midland, Texas; Gregory and his wife, Jacqueline, of Dallas, Texas; his mother, Irma VanWey of Decorah; four brothers, Arthur and his wife, Linda, of Denton, Texas; Robert and his wife, Linda, of Marion; Clarence and his wife, Dee, of Joplin, Missouri; Donald of Monona; two sisters, Donna Cannon and her husband, John, of Cedar Rapids and Sandra VanWey of Decorah. Also surviving are four grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Saturday, June 16, 1994 in the Frankville Community Presbyterian Church at Frankville. The Rev. Kathleen Soldwisch officiated. Mrs. Marian Laterman was the organist. The Schutte Funeral Home of Postville was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Frankville Cemetery.
