Ossian- Donald F. Hertges, 71, died Friday, Jan. 19, 1996, in Winneshiek County Hospital, Decorah, after an apparent heart attack. Funeral mass: 11 a.m. Monday, St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, by the Rev. Richard Kuhn. Burial: church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. today at Ossian Funeral Chapel, where a rosary will be recited at 4 and a parish service begins at 8 p.m.

Survivors include his wife, Theresa; two sons, Andrew of Decorah and Donald A. of Ossian; three daughters, Mary Weis of Decorah, Jeanette Brown of Norfolk, Va., and Donna Tarasek of Burke, Va.,; two brothers, Clarence of Cresco and Leonard of Decorah; and five sisters, Mayme Klee and Hilda Sandry, both of Rochester, Minn., Florence Hawkins of Cedar Rapids, Dorothy Barnes of Cresco and Gladys Wolfe of Decorah.
