Walter Schave was born February 26, 1894, Winneshiek county, Iowa. Walter died November 3, 1915.

La Crosse Tribune, La Crosse, Wis., Wed., 15 Feb. 1950.

Decorah- Funeral services for Henry John Schafee, 79, who died Friday, Feb. 10, at his farm home near Decorah, were to be held Wednesday at the Ossian Lutheran church, the Rev. V. A. Fiskerbeck officiating burial to be in the Centennial cemetery.

He was born May 11, 1870, in Clayton county, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schafee. He married the former Anna Lang February 23, 1893, in Ossian, and the couple engaged in farming near Lime Springs and later near Postville before buying the farm on which he died.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Leo; a daughter, Lucille; and six brothers, John of Minneapolis, Will and Charles of Castalia, Fred, Waukon, and George, of near Decorah, and Albert, Clermont.
