Mrs. A. C. Nesbit, 71, Castalia Woman, Dies; Rites Today
Mrs. A. C. Nesbit, 71, a well-known resident of the Castalia vicinity, died suddenly of a heart attack Monday at 4:30 p.m. at her home two miles south of Castalia.
Mrs. Nesbit had not been in the best of health since suffering a stroke 10 years ago. However, she was active and her sudden death comes as a distinct shock to everyone who knew her.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. in St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church at Ossian. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. V. J. Peters will officiate at the requiem high mass.
Burial will be in the church cemetery with the following men serving as pallbearers: Larry Horan, Richard Griebenow, Wayne Dahms, Joe Leehy, Lloyd Anderson and Emmett Carlin.
Mrs. Nesbit was the former Miss Anna M. Hill. She was born Sept. 18, 1891, at New York City, N. Y., and came to this community as a young girl. She was adopted by the late Mr. and Mrs. Tom Barrett.
On Jan. 18, 1923, she married A. C. (Bob) Nesbit, the ceremony being performed in St. Aloysius rectory at Calmar by the Rev. A. C. Peikert. They became the parents of two daughters.
Mrs. Nesbit is survived by her husband and her daughters, Genevieve (Mrs. Jack NcNeil) of Castalia, and Ann (Mrs. Robert Minger) of West Union.
Minnie (Guese) Goeke, the contributor of this article, has written on it: April 29, 1963 and 12 grandchildren. Minnie had a scrapbook collection in which she saved articles of all kinds.
