MRS. ELMER H. (Marjorie Eleanor Kobriger) HAGER

Marjorie Eleanor Hager, daughter of George and Elsie (McMartin) Kobriger, was born February 2, 1906 in Castalia, Iowa. She passed away April 9, 1986 in Community Memorial Hospital in Postville.
She was baptized August 8, 1922. Marjorie attended the Castalia School, was a graduate of Postville High School in the class of 1926 and attended Luther College.
On January 25, 1928 she was married to Elmer Hager. To this union three sons were born. They lived in the Frankville area until 1943 when they moved to Castalia.
For 21½ years Marjorie had taught school in Allamakee, Fayette and Winneshiek Counties. She had also been employed in the telephone office in both Castalia and Ossian and had held various other jobs.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Elmer, who died January 2, 1979, two brothers, Donald and Daniel Kobriger and three sisters, Florence Nelson, Julia Wedo and Mildred Tieskoetter.
Surviving are three sons, Robert and his wife, Margaret, of Muscatine, Iowa, Gerald and his wife, Marlys of Castalia and Ronaldo (Jack) and his wife, Dellene, of Postville, seven grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and a sister, Ionia Hoopman of Marion, Iowa.
Marjorie had been a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Castalia since 1948, the ALCW, the KEWS Senior Citizens Club of Castalia and the Bloomfield Township Historical Society.
Casket bearers were her grandsons: Randy Hager, Jerry Kingery, Loren Wissmann, Silvin Reed, Jeff Olson, Rick Rexroth and Gary Hager.
Interment was in the Bloomfield Cemetery, Castalia, Iowa.
The officiating Pastor was H. W. Wolfgram. The church was the Zion Lutheran Church of Castalia, Iowa. The funeral was held Saturday, April 12, 1986 at 11:00 a.m.
