Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 18, from Martin Brothers funeral home in Waukon for Orrin Lester Ames, 62, of rural Frankville who died at his home on Thursday, January 16.

The Rev. Yusuke Hidaka was in charge of the services and interment was in the Oakland cemetery.

Mr. Ames was born on January 6, 1907 in Luana and was a son of Absalom and Mary Scheid Ames. He was educated in the local schools and was a farmer. He moved to the Frankville area in 1956.

Survivors include three brothers, Amos of Postville; Miles of Frankville and Austin of McGregor; three sisters, Mrs. Iva Snitker of Frankville, Mrs. Page (Alice) Dull and Mrs. Vern (Tressa) Koth, both of Monona.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles, Floyd and Veranus; three sisters, Mae, Agnes and Plesy Jane.

Veranus died in Waukon, Tuesday, January 14, of this year.

Mr. Ames was member of the Elks, Odd Fellows and Masonic Loges.
