Services were held for Emmett W. Schroeder, 75, of Calmar, Tuesday, Feb. 26, 1980, at United Methodist Church, Castalia. The Rev. Curtis Webster officiated. Burial was in the Pleasant View Cemetery at Castalia.

Mr. Schroeder was born Aug. 8, 1904, the son of George J. and Mary C. (Koenig) Schroeder. He received his education in the Postville Schools and Carthage College, Carthage, Illinois.

July 25, 1933, he married the former Verna Sieg at Waukon, Iowa.

Preceding him in death were his parents and one granddaughter, Gerri Lynn Meyer. Surviving him in addition to his wife, are two daughters, Mrs. Cloy (Bonnie) Meyer, Castalia and Mrs. Milton (Jean) Meyer, Monona, and four grandchildren.
