Funeral services for Marie G. Anderson were held Monday, May 9, 1983 at 1:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Castalia. The Reverend Curtis Webster officiated. The Schutte Funeral Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Bloomfield Cemetery at Castalia.
Marie G. Anderson, daughter of James A. and Cora (Allen) Harvey, was born September 24, 1904 in North Dakota. She died May 6, 1983 at her home in Castalia at the age of 78 years, 7 months and 12 days.
She attended school in the Castalia area. On December 23, 1922 she was married to Earl M. Anderson. To this union three sons were born.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Earl, in 1970, two sisters, Lepha and Flossie and four brothers, Harry, Fay, Wayne and Ray.
Surviving are three sons, Rodney and Jerry, both of Castalia and William (Bill) of Postville, five grandchildren, Scott, Stacey (Mrs. Ron Wendel), Lori (Mrs. Mark Berns), Lisa and JaDene, two great-grandchildren, Sarah Berns and Matthew Wendel and a sister, Violet Christofferson of Drakesville, Iowa.

Castalia- Mrs. Marie G. Anderson, 78, died Friday at Community Memorial Hospital in Postville.
Survivors are three sons, Rodney and Jerry, both of Castalia, and William of Postville; a sister, Violet Christofferson of Drakesville, Iowa; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren
Services: Monday, 1:30 p.m., United Methodist church. Friends may call after 8 a.m. Sunday at Schutte's, Postville. Burial: Bloomfield Cemetery.
