DIED,

LESTER--At Kendallville, Iowa, June 3, 1885, of heart disease, Lenna, oldest daughter of Jas. and Alice Lester, aged 8 yrs., 3 m, and 22 days.

Close the door gently bridle the breath,
Our little earth angel is talking with death,
Strew round her pillow the lilies so fair,
Spotless and pure with her life they’ll compare.

Sweet little Lenna for eight short years,
The darkness of this earth was sent here to cheer,
But the death angel hovers o’er the lovliest{sp} flowers,
Took our darling to bloom in Edens bright bowers.

The angels in heaven will nourish and care,
For the bud that was nipped ere’ the noonday glare,
Or the chilling blast of the autumn night,
The pride of our heart would wither and blight.

We shall see her again in that heavenly clime,
In the sweet bye and bye there cometh a time,
Not a child shall we again behold her,
But a maiden fair in our enbrace{sp} enfold her.
