Roger D. Thompson, a former Decorah business man, died December 19 in St. Lukes Hospital in Cedar Rapids following a heart attack. He was 56.
Mr. Thompson was born in Decorah October 10, 1918 and had attended the public schools. He operated an auto body shop here and the Ford Auto Agency before moving to Texas 12 years ago. He lived in Cedar Rapids the past five years.
He is survived by his wife, the former Dorothy Tomasek of Waucoma; four daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Priscilla) Hladek, Casper, Wyo.; Mrs. Otto (Glenna) Schellberg, Mrs. Tom (Louise) Griffith and Mrs. Richard (Debbie) Hutchens, all of Cedar Rapids; two brothers, Ray and Curtis Thompson, both of Decorah and a sister, Mrs Lars Hamre of Decorah.
Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 23 at the Catholic Church in Waucoma with burial in the Waucoma cemetery.
Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Mayme Thompson.
