Services for Mrs. Hilda S. Flatland, 79, were held Friday at 2 p.m. in First Lutheran Church. Burial was in Glenwood Lutheran Cemetery. The Rev. Alvon Nelson officiated and Steine's was in charge.
Mrs. Flatland, of 410 Mechanic St., died at her home last Tuesday.
Pallbearers at the funeral were Robert Davies, Jr., Harold Flatland, Jr., Paul Broadbent, Duane Flatland, Kenneth Flatland, and Curtis Flatland.
Organist was Miss Gelene Nelson and soloist was Mrs. George Rowland.
Mrs. Flatland was born Oct. 15, 1884, in Norway, the daughter of Hans and Nellie Lykkeby.
She married Ole Flatland in Glenwood Township May 27, 1906. Her husband died Nov. 24, 1936.
The deceased came to Winneshiek County in 1892. She was a member of First Lutheran Church.
The couple had six daughters and six sons. Those surviving are Ole, Decorah; Albert, Cresco; Norman, Mabel; Harold, Cresco; Charles, Redando Beach, Calif.; Mrs. Anna Severson, La Crosse; Mrs. Mervin (Clara) Stegen, Decorah; Mrs. Herman (Elise) Stegen, Mabel; and Mrs. Hannah Engen, Des Moines. Two daughters and a son preceded her in death.
Other survivors include three brothers: Sam Hanson, Hesper; Ed Hanson, Washington; and Carl Hanson, Washington; and two sisters: Mrs. Nellie Severson, Decorah; and Mrs. Hannah Hovey, Decorah; 38 grandchildren, and 42 great-grandchildren.
Seven brothers and sisters preceded her in death.
