Funeral services were held Saturday, June 12, for Olias E. Erickson, 79, Canoe Township farmer who died June 9 at his farm home.

The Rev. Alvon Nelson officiated at the 2 p.m. services at First Lutheran Church in Decorah. Mrs. Paul Jersild was organist and Mrs. George Rowland sang.

Pallbearers were Lester Erickson, Jr., Thomas Erickson, Ronald Frye, Marlin Bjerke, Walter Hovey and Gerald Young.

Mrs. Edwin Roed and Mrs. Arnold Thompson were on the floral committee.

Olias E. Erickson was born February 20, 1886, in Canoe township to Edward and Ingeborg Erickson. He attended rural school in Canoe Township.

He was married to Clara Iverson April 24, 1907 at First Lutheran Church parsonage in Decorah. He lived in Canoe Township most of his life and was a member of First Lutheran Church.

Surviving are his wife, eight children, 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

The surviving children are Earl, Mabel, Minn.; Mrs. Clem Frye (Olive), Decorah; Lester, Decorah; Maurice, Decorah; Mrs. Ernest Winger (Violet), Decorah; Mrs. Howard Hahn (Evelyn), Rolling Hills, Calif.; Robert, Marion, Iowa; and Mrs. Ray Tollefson (Alice), Decorah.

Preceding him in death were his parents, seven brothers and three sisters.

Burial was in Lutheran Cemetery. Steine Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
